Taiwan is one of the economic powerhouses in East Asia, densely populated and highly developed in terms of economic, education and technology. From semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence to waste reduction and textile innovations, Taiwan’s industries are set to fuel world’s economy. Taiwan’s culture and sceneries are also diverse, being an island nation abundantly endowed with mountains (over 200 of its peaks are more than 3,000 meters high), one can enjoy water activities and hiking within a short reach. You may find Taiwan and India similar in the way we both celebrate dynamic religions, delicious chai and authentic food. In India, one may see a Hindu temple in every corner of the street, whereas in Taiwan, Mazu Temples are widely worshipped in every township. Both our nations crave for chai and shows immense hospitality with delicate cuisines. This book hopes to embrace its readers in India different faces of Taiwan with selected articles from Taiwan Panorama, a publication by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As Taiwan and India relationship is making huge strides forward, we wish to introduce the strength and beauty of this precious democratic country, an island of resilience and leader of governance, to our strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific.
