About The Author

Vijai Singh Mankotia

Vijai Singh Mankotia is a former Major of the First Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army. Winner of the Coveted and Prestigeous Sword of Honour as well as the Gold Medal from the Indian Military Academy Dehradun, he saw war with China in 1962 and the 1965 and 1971 operations against Pakistan. Subsequently, he did an assignment in the enchanting Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan where he was posted for almost five years. He took premature retirement from the Army and worked as an Executive with Air India for a few years before plunging into politics.
